Job Description

SUMMARY

Responsible for planning, organizing, developing and directing all aspects of Crisis Services including Mobile Crisis Response and Mobile Crisis Response-Team, including ensuring 24/7 in-person response coverage.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsibilities include direct day-to-day management of programmatic components for maintaining compliance with program and service goals and program contracts including but not limited to the following: policy and protocol development, case assignments, skill development, oversight of concerns relating to coverage, productivity, caseload expectations and maintaining program expense within budgetary limits.
  • Participates in program design and development to meet the goals of Pillars Community Health’s Strategic Plan and the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  • Participates in planning process with the Chief Program Officer, VP of Open Access and other directors for program development, resource deployment and utilization, and community linkages.
  • Ensures compliance with goals and objectives for the crisis programs.
  • Provides clinical and administrative supervision. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to hiring and training staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance, providing coaching and development (inclusive of providing clinical support, clinical and administrative supervision for direct service work) to enhance professional development and ensure quality services, addressing concerns and resolving problems, and completing administrative documentation as required by the position.
  • Provides crisis intervention consultation services in person or by telephone to staff on a rotating on call schedule with program supervisors. On-call responsibilities include consultation for coverage overnight, on weekends, and holidays.
  • Participates in CQI process, overseeing adherence to protocols and goals and objectives set forth in CQI program for current year.
  • Participates in regular management meetings to review and evaluate overall staff and program performance goals and objectives.
  • Coordinates with access and referral, outpatient mental health, and benefits coordinator as needed.
  • Responsible for ensuring documentation requirements and standards are maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Modifies modality and duration of treatment protocols based on the most current research.
  • Addresses and implements appropriate action for quality-of-care concerns, staff concerns, client complaints, and department concerns.
  • Provides clinical oversight within the scope of the clinical license/certification.
  • Responsible for establishing and implementing staff protocols; ensures existing protocols are updated and trains staff accordingly.
  • Completes regular program evaluations and inter-organizational communication to ensure that the program continues to achieve objectives effectively.
  • Occasionally, provides services on-site, in-homes, in the community, and on-site at community partners (including schools, police stations, hospitals, etc.) where appropriate.
  • Provides crisis support to clinics as needed (Crises should take priority over regular sessions).
  • Ensures staff completion of all organizational required paperwork and documentation for all clients.
  • Participates in and ensures staff participate in all team, department, and organizational meetings and training requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Master’s in Counseling, Psychology, Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field. Licensure LCPC, LCSW, LMFT and/or related licensure is required. Experience providing clinical and administrative supervision required. Experience working as a program administrator or coordinator is also required. At least two (2) years of experience with Mobile Crisis Response/SASS and MCR-Team required.

OTHER

Must maintain a safe driving record and have current valid Illinois or Indiana Driver’s License. Personal vehicle needed for transportation to/from Pillars Community Health sites and community locations. Mileage for authorized work-related purposes is reimbursable.

SCHEDULE:

The Director is responsible for overseeing the operation of a 24/7/365 behavioral health crisis response program, which includes requirements for in-person responses to crisis calls.

The position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule and works at least three (3) days on-site each week. Must be flexible with work hours and regular schedule. Schedule will vary based on the needs of the program, to include working evenings on-site to provide support and training for staff.

PAY & BENEFIT INFORMATION

Salary range: $75,000 – $90,000 *

*Based on one’s experience and qualifications as compared with our position requirements and other similar employees within the organization.
