Job Description

Salary: $120,000 - 160,000 per year Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in an industrial or laboratory environment with strong global project management skills.
  • A Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline, preferably in Automation, Robotics, or Engineering Sciences, along with experience in industrial applications.
  • Technical expertise in scheduling and orchestration software for laboratory automation.
  • Proven experience in managing projects that require change management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Familiarity with device driver development and deployment, including IVI-COM, IVI-D, RESTful, and Virtual.
  • A record of implementing automation and robotics solutions in industrial environments, preferably in Life Sciences or similar fields.
  • Experience in installing and programming standard interface devices such as Serial, PCI, I/O, Ethernet, PCB, and embedded computers.
  • In-depth experience programming and deploying SCARA, 6-axis, and Cartesian robots.
  • Knowledge in modern AGV mission and fleet management servers and software.
  • Proficiency in integrating robotic middleware with low-level firmware and high-level AI/ML modules.
  • Advanced skills in automation architecture design and IIoT deployment, particularly across ISA-95 levels of automation.
  • Expertise in AI-driven robotics and perception systems, such as computer vision and sensor fusion.
  • Strong experience in implementing innovative solutions using automation and robotics in laboratory settings.
  • A demonstrated ability to manage global stakeholders effectively.
  • Soft skills required include leadership capabilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive in a matrix organization.
  • A strategic mindset with the capacity to analyze scenarios and disrupt the status quo with innovative approaches.
  • Results-driven with a track record of driving projects from concept to execution.
  • High autonomy and adaptability, particularly in ambiguous situations.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in French and/or German is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively on both local and global scales.
  • An infrequent travel requirement for domestic and international conferences and meetings.
Responsibilities:
  • Define and execute a comprehensive strategy for laboratory automation and robotics, including platforms for mobile robots, collaborative robots, and humanoid robotics within CMC.
  • Build and lead a team of automation and robotics specialists to support the automation goals of the CMC functions.
  • Assist the embedded Automation & Robotics teams within specific CMC global functions in vendor alignment, capital expenditure planning, strategic hiring, and alignment on automation platforms across Global CMC.
  • Drive the swift implementation of Automation & Robotics initiatives in Global CMC, showcasing improvements in project timelines, process productivity, and team efficiency.
  • Develop automation strategies, create corresponding roadmaps, and monitor execution to deliver significant business value.
  • Align the CMC strategy with other parallel initiatives across Sanofi's various functions.
  • Collaborate directly with the Sanofi Digital team, contributing technical expertise and engaging in joint governance processes.
