Under the general direction of the Branch Director and the Research Data Supervisor II in the Community, Health, and Environmental Research Section (CHERS), the RD Sup I in the Social Justice Research Support (SJRS) unit oversees the work product of their team and works collaboratively with the other lead researchers (Research Data Specialist II) under the direction of the same RD Sup II. The RD Sup I is responsible for serving as a lead researcher supervising the work of the supervised staff. The RD Sup I is also responsible for the more sophisticated analysis or methodological decisions making, in consult with the RD Sup II. The RD Sup I is responsible for a broad range of supervisory duties associated with the research projects and portfolio under their supervision. The RD Sup I is also responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the section activities including: resource allocation; developing strategies for process improvement; quality assurance; briefing management; establishing goals, objectives, and work priorities. In addition, the RD Sup I will facilitate communication between the unit and Research Services management, and other DOJ staff to assist with high quality completion of section work.
