Position Summary:
The Sr. Data Scientist I designs, develops, tests, deploys, maintains, and improves comprehensive data science solutions. They deliver individual projects based upon deadlines and required deliverables. The Sr. Scientist builds complex models independently and collaborates with other teams to conduct model reviews. They develop and/or provide technical leadership in the development of machine learning models involving the application of new methods with significant technical risk. The Sr. Scientist prepares detailed plans, which may span over a year for complex projects. They determine model philosophy, goals, and objectives, and participate in the formation of project goals, scope, and schedule.
Essential Responsibilities:
Develops comprehensive data science solutions
Architects and builds machine learning infrastructure, deployment, and monitoring
Mentors junior and mid-level Data Scientists
Includes testing in all aspects of the development process
Participates in project planning and architecture discussions
Leads the adoption of new data science techniques and technologies
Works with stakeholders to determine the desired feature set and develop stable and scalable solutions
Creates descriptive reports and visualizations detailing the performance of advanced analytics projects
Analyzes potential problems and finds solutions to pressing data issues
Participates in on-call rotation
Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:
At least four (4) years of relevant data science experience
Advanced experience with the Python data science stack (pandas, scikit-learn, keras, etc.)
Expert experience with SQL
Intermediate experience with Apache Spark or other distributed processing engines
Advanced experience with supervised and unsupervised machine learning models
Advanced experience with statistical methods
Effective problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
Ability to consistently achieve results, even under tough circumstances
Effective technical leadership abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with innovative application design and implementation
Ability to make sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems
Required Education & Certifications:
M.S./M.A. degree in a technical field; or equivalent work experience
Ph.D. degree in a technical field preferred
Compensation:
Qualified candidates can expect a compensation range between $135,0000- $170,000 or more depending on experience
